How it Works

Eyevensys delivers its therapeutic treatments using its electro-transfection technology to transfect and express a functional gene to the cells of the ciliary muscle in the eye.

The ETIS device allows a highly accurate injection of the functional gene in the locus of interest, inside the ciliary muscle and in the space between two electrodes. A pre-defined sequence of very short electrical pulses will result in the efficient transfection of the cells.

The procedure in itself is minimally invasive, very fast, and may be completed in under 2 minutes.

The ciliary muscle cells will produce continuously the therapeutic protein of interest over an extended period of time. The level of expression of the protein may be controlled and is dose-treatment dependent.
